Custom Window Treatments for Master Bedroom in El Dorado Hills with Vern Yip’s Fabric Collection
Right at Home Interiors owner and designer, Keely Hersh, created beautiful custom window treatments for a master bedroom redesign using Vern Yip fabrics for her client Beverly. The result was simply stunning. Let’s take a look at how the room came together.
Custom Window Treatments for a Master Bedroom Start with Great Fabric
Above are the window treatment fabrics laid out on Keely’s cutting table just before she made the patterns. The main floral print (Floret/Yellow Grey) is from Vern Yip’s Fabric Collection and adds a modern take on a floral. The gorgeous grey silk (Titan/Pewter) and the tassel trim (BI100/Oyster) for the drapery is from Calico’s expansive fabric and trim selection.
The timeless silk drapery frames the pretty white shutters Beverly already had on the window. The short rod with a finial on each end adds contemporary detail with flair and style.
A Pretty Valance Complements the Look
The close up of the valance above shows the rod flush up against the wall in the corner. The opposite end is capped off with a Victorian style finial from Design Elements. All of the hardware (Fluted wood pole, rings, and finial) are in a lovely custom finish called Imperial Bronze with Gold & Gray. Keely and Beverly both thought it was the perfect finish for the room. The valance’s pleated style is a modern take on a French pleat and is pinched higher up to give a more flared-out look.
Custom Pillows Complete a Designer Master Bedroom
No designer bedroom would be complete without an array of custom pillows. The bird print fabric on the king-size pillow shams is from Vern Yip’s collection and is called Jamison/Grey Citrine. Three euro shams in Studio Velvet/Steel with gold cording (1009T/6819) sit behind the king-size pillows. The two gold accent pillows are another Vern Yip fabric (Flurries/Citrine) with self-welt cording. The center accent pillow is a beautiful light blue/grey damask called Tessa/Blue Topaz. The edge of this accent pillow is finished in Karoo/Soleil trim. All of these pillows give Beverly’s bedding the custom details that she was dreaming of.
Careful Installation Brings the Bedroom Design Together
Above is Beverly’s master bedroom during the installation process. Keely’s installer, Bill Mott, used a laser level to find the perfect line so that all the custom window treatments would be level going around the room. All of Keely’s clients love Bill for his professional workmanship and upbeat personality.
The after picture above shows how much drama and height the finished custom window treatments add to the master bedroom. Beverly’s master suite in El Dorado Hills, California already has 10-foot ceilings. However, Keely chose to mount the draperies just below the beautiful crown moulding which draws the eye up and expands the room even more. Keely also created a flip over style for the drapery at the top, which let her use the same top treatment as a valance for the two side windows flanking the bed.
This is the second time Keely has done a master bedroom for Beverly and she was as thrilled with this one as she was the first one. This transformation shows what can happen to your space when you work with the right designer for the job.
