This is the before photo of Valerie’s Living room in Folsom California. We started this project for Valerie’s daughter’s upcoming wedding.
In the after photo the height and drama the new contemporary drapery adds to the room just cannot be denied. I fabricated the drapes by sewing 3 fabrics together creating the striking custom drapery. The fabrics where all purchased from Calico; the top print Zenzo / Yellow, the gray banding is Allepey / Chalkboard and the gold silk is Titan / Beige. They all come together as one beautiful statement in the room.
The overall look is modern with a little mid century flare and welcomes you right in to have a seat and stay awhile.
Next my installer Bill is measuring for the rod placement in Valerie’s Dining room. We used Sherwin Williams beautiful Classic French Gray as the back drop wall color in both rooms.
The round glass dining room table gives a clean spacious look. The chairs with their fun low curved back highlight the shape of the table. The draperies and sheers add to the intimate dining experience.
We use two ladders to keep the install going. When Bill has one rod up, then I am hanging and dressing out the draperies on the other ladder. We move seamlessly from window to window until the room is complete.
I designed an inverted pleat style at the top of the drapes for a modern look. The drapery hardware is from Design Elements Park Avenue Collection. The 1 1/2” rod and end caps are all in their Brushed Brass finish, which is a perfect complement to the gold silk drapes. Valerie loves to collect vases and I arranged 3 with great texture on the center of the table. The celebrating and parties to come will be so fun in Valerie’s newly designed rooms.
