In Joanne’s dramatic entry way you look down the hallway and see 5 architectural sections painted in the most dynamic flow of colors. I selected Sherwin William’s Independent Gold SW6401 for the entry way, the next section is Pearl Gray SW0052 framed by Ruskin Green SW0042. The next section is an intersecting hall and dining room in White Raisin SW7685. The next section is Copen Blue SW 0068 framed with Bracing Blue SW 6242 and ends in the Living room Painted in the Copen Blue for its serine feeling. I definitely had some color charts to keep this plan on track.
When you walk into the Dining room there is more drama with the ceiling in Cajun Red SW0008. The room has a classic formal feel and is where Joanne’s entertains frequently.
The drapery panels that I designed are made from a beautiful tone on tone geometric silk with a Cajun red silk banding that coordinates with the ceiling color.
I just recently sewed a table runner for Joanne, using some of the left over fabric she had saved. She chose the perfect size, which you can only get with custom design.
This close up of the Drapery hardware shows the beautiful finish of Mahogany with Gold from Design Elements Renaissance collection. We selected the Fluted Pole and Rings capped off with the Elizabethan Finial. The large scale French pleat created a fantastic heading detail for this formal room.
We remodeled the bathroom by installing Creama Marfil marble for the countertops. The backsplash is an intricate small scale tile pattern in the same material called Savona. The wall was painted Sherwin Williams Ruskin Green SW0042 in a semi gloss finish. The new oiled rubbed bronze faucet and coordinating mirror completed the updated for a minimal investment.
Joanne has a love for art and we used some of the originals pieces she already owned and combined them with a striking new mirror and lamp. The upholstered furniture is new and the fabric selected is a textural neutral that will allow Joanne to change her colors though the years. I selected fun accented fabrics for the pillows. The back coral velvet pillows are Calico’s Fatelli / Tearose and the stripe silk is Rangoon / Multi trimmed in a ribbon fringe with multi colors to accent the edge. On the chair is a lumbar pillow in Porada linen color Summer.
I made custom bedding for the master suite. The back euro shams are velvet with cording on the edge. The beautiful front king shams are a large scale stripe with a wide ruffle and a small cording. To accent the pillow shams we center an over sized rectangular pillow in a bird print with moss fringe. The ensemble is highlighted by the contemporary art Joanne and I found together. Last but not least is one more wall and ceiling color Copen Blue SW0068. Joanne is my bravest color client ever, and it goes to show by taking a design risk the payoff to your home can be amazing.
